Fishing Trip FAQs
What to Know Before You Go
Our summer fishing trips are laid-back, scenic, and incredibly rewarding — but they’re nothing like your typical weekend on the river. These are true backcountry experiences, where every cast is made in wild, untouched waters, and every day starts with a horseback ride into remote alpine lakes and mountain streams. You'll be far from cell service and close to everything that makes the outdoors special. Here’s what to know as you plan for the pack-in journey, the waters we fish, and what to expect at camp.
Do I need my own gear?
We recommend bringing your own rod, waders, and personal tackle, but we can provide gear if needed — just let us know in advance.
What kind of fish will we be targeting?
Mostly wild trout — including rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout, depending on the location.
Can beginners join this trip?
Absolutely! Our guides love working with all skill levels — from first-time fly anglers to seasoned casters.
How remote are the fishing spots?
Very! All locations are accessed on horseback and far from any roads — that’s what makes the experience so special.
Are these trips family-friendly?
Yes — with moderate hiking and a comfortable camp setup, it’s a great fit for couples, teens, and adventurous families.
Let’s Plan Your Escape to the Water
If you're ready to trade the noise of everyday life for the sound of flowing water and trail hooves, this trip is for you. Whether you're an experienced angler or just want to learn, we’ll make sure your time in the backcountry is relaxed, memorable, and filled with great fishing.
